London Progress I turned in their best performance of the season to hammer JAGS I 13-1 and the bad news for their opponents was that this result was achieved without their No 1 player Marco Essomba who has only played once this season. Progress rattled off the first ten games before Lorestas Trumpauskas put his team on the scoresheet with a 3-1 win over Tomek Gretschell. Surprisingly no player was nominated for the Man of the Match Award which seems a little hard on Cris Sladden who disposed of Trumpauskas, Abdul Wuraola and then Clive Carthy all three straight. Jason Sugrue and Taju Agunbiade were also undefeated. Taju who has won 14 out of his 15 games has been quite outstanding so far and it is hard to believe that he was playing in Division Two (South) last year. Taju’s most memorable victory here was his 3-2 (11-9 in the deciding set) win over Abdul Wuraola in game No 13 where he retrieved a 2-0 deficit. One rather suspects that the JAGS players might have been half-expecting it at this stage!
