The JAGS versus Barnet clash resembled one of those familiar middle-of-the-table local League matches where no single player manages to stay undefeated and all bar one player manages to get his name in the "games-for" column on the scoresheet. JAGS’ Lorestas Trumpauskas repeated last season’s impressive victory over Gergely Urban but he also repeated last year’s loss against Costas Papantoniou currently ranked 29 places below him. Clive Carthy scraped home 12-10 in the decider against Costas but he met his match against Gergely where he succumbed 3-0. Barnet’s Linda Radford (who won twice) continued where she had left off last season with an 11-8 in the deciding set victory over Abdul Wuraola. The clash of the No 4’s proved vital and Anthony Corbin’s 11-6 in the fifth end win over Jerome Jonah appears to have given his team-mates the perfect fillip. After he took this match Barnet managed to win six of the last seven clashes as they raced away to their 9-5 victory.
